This route was planned by komoot.
On this tour I had some problems with the recording (Garmin handheld). I then mixed in the photos. However, these were not always correctly localized. So the order is anything but correct. The tour itself was very varied. From completely snow-free spots up to 30cm snow depth, everything was there. Much of the route is paved at the beginning and end of the route. But the Spatlahner Klamm, the route from the Wochenbrunner Alm to the stone circle are wonderful.
Very nice hike on the sunny side of the Wilder Kaiser. A really nice break in the Riedlhütte
The peaks of the Wilder Kaiser are already powdered. It snowed deep down. We want to explore the area around the Wilder Kaiser in the next 14 days. Our first hike takes us from Ellmau along the Sonnseit circuit. Passing the Riedlhütte, which is closed today, we reach the Ellmau stone circle, an energetic, self-contained natural force field on the Wilder Kaiser. Our next station is the Wochenbrunneralm. Through the Spatlahnerklamm we finally reach Ellmau again, just in time for coffee time.
The initial intention was to hike the "Gruttenhütten runde" (https://www.wilderkaiser.info/de/tours/gruttenhuetten-runde.html), but due to the uncertain weather conditions we shortened the tour. We were lucky though and got home dry after having a great lunch at Wochenbrunner Alm.
Nice hike, but the intermediate destination Riedlhütte has been closed, as it looked for a long time.
Very nice hike along the Spatlana Gorge and further along the root path (partly a bit exposed) to the Riedlhütte
Today we went from Going via Ellmau up to the Riedlhütte, where they say they serve the best Kaiserschmarrn in the area. Whether it's the best... I wouldn't say, but it was freshly prepared and very tasty! So, refreshed, we continued on, enjoying magnificent views of the Wilder Kaiser and the Ellmau Gate, via the Ellmau Stone Circle, the rather touristy Wochenbrunner Alm, and the idyllic Spatlahner Gorge, back to the "Bergdoktor" village.
It starts in Ellmau along the golf course towards Wochenbrunner Alm. At the end of the gorge, continue towards Anna-Grotte. Then the Riedlhütte signpost (822). We walked back to Ellmau over the Haflinger trough to the Kaiser-Bad. The hike is very nice, especially through the gorge. It is a bit strenuous for little feet, sturdy shoes are a must! There is a lot going on, but it's worth it.
