Hiking
The landscapes of Saguenay Fjord National Park are simply stunning. On this hike, you can appreciate the powerful natural forces that created the mighty fjord. There’s a decent amount of elevation gain to contend with, so bring plenty of snacks and water.
The hike starts from the P3 car park, close to the Éternité River. You’ll follow small paths through woodland alongside the fjord. After passing a waterfall, you begin the ascent to the Géant (giant) viewpoint for a huge panorama. Admire the views over the vast Baie Éternité – the Bay of Eternity. If you’re lucky, you might spot seals, belugas, minke whales and other marine mammals. The region is also great for observing migratory birds. For a longer day out, continue to Cap Éternite, though this doubles the overall distance you’ll cover.
The national park entrance fee is around ten dollars. Saguenay town is just under 70 kilometres (43 mi) from this Tour and it’s around 250 kilometres (155 mi) to Québec.
