This route was planned by komoot.
Start in Kulsheim Coordinates 49.671123, 9.517015 Very difficult tour with some very steep climbs.
The 160 km long LTS cycle path "Liebliches Taubertal - Der Sportive" runs from Wertheim following the Main to Freudenberg. From there the path continues over the heights of the Taubertal to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I planned the first section of the cycle path from Wertheim to Külsheim as a circular route. I started in Freudenberg so that I could get the most elevation gain of the tour right at the beginning. A sporty climb, even with the e-bike, but it's worth it, there are wonderful views that are worth the effort. The path runs along well-paved forest and cycle paths. In some places in the forest the harvester was at work again, here it was a bit muddy. From the highest point of the tour, the Dürrhof near Rauenberg, the route continues through an undulating hilly landscape with rapeseed fields currently blooming beautifully in yellow. In Külsheim, the city of fountains, a medieval market "Historical Spectacle" is being set up on the Burgkurzweyl in Cullesheym. The market will take place: Anno 2024 4-5/9/11-12 May. Day ticket €9. In Külsheim I left the LTS and after about 4 km downhill I reached the cycle path "Liebliches Taubertal - Der Klassiker", which then took me along the Tauber via Bronnbach Monastery to Wertheim. In the beer garden of the Klosterhof inn at Bronnbach Monastery I had a short coffee break with very friendly and attentive hosts. In Wertheim I meet the LTS again and follow it along the Main back to Freudenberg. In Stadtprozelten I cycle up to the "Henneburg" castle ruins and again get a fantastic view of the Main valley.
A culturally interesting and scenic tour. Due to the differences in altitude, this should only be undertaken by those who are in top physical shape.
