It is arguably Luxembourg's most underrated castle: a sprawling romantic ruin lording it over the meeting point of three verdant valleys. It's free of charge to enter and explore... and you'll probably be the only ones there! Best of all, it forms the centrepiece of this highly enjoyable 9km trail. A small tip: The "TA4" trail doesn't actually go to the best viewpoint of the castle (main photo above), but it's only a short-but-strenuous detour, well signposted and absolutely worth it.
Much macadamm, at temperatures like 24 degrees today, too warm and no shade for part of the route. But the castle was worth the tour 👍🤗
Brandenburg (Luxembourg: Branebuerg, French: Brandenbourg) is a village in the municipality of Tandel in the canton of Vianden in northern Luxembourg. The Blees River flows through the village and has approximately 330 inhabitants.
