Swimming fun and great views await on this 13-kilometre (8 mi) lake hike, located at the southern end of Whiteshell Provincial Park. It’s the ideal Tour for a day trip from Winnipeg.
From the car park at Hunt Lake, it only takes a few minutes to reach the eastern shore of West Hawk Lake. From here, a beautiful path winds its way through the forest. Rooty and boulder-strewn, it offers beautiful views from the lake shore, with many idyllic bays perfect for stopping for a break.
Be sure to bring sturdy hiking footwear as the terrain is often uneven, and you may have to climb over the occasional fallen tree trunk. There are no refreshment stops along the way, but there are plenty of quiet riverside spots where you can fully enjoy the fascinating Canadian landscapes.
