Our second tour in the Altmühltal took us from Riedenburg through the wintery gorge ☃️ up to the impressive Prunn Castle. This hike had everything a hiker's heart could desire: slightly snow-covered paths, sunny trails and a sunset 🌄 like in a picture book. The path through the gorge requires a good level of surefootedness, especially now in winter when there is snow ❄️. But it is always worth it to meander through the bizarre rock formations, enjoy the landscape and catch one of the fascinating views of Prunn Castle 🏰 again and again. This historical jewel towers majestically over the Altmühltal and could be seen from countless places, accompanying us all day. You have to tackle a short, steep climb up to the castle to then be able to enjoy a fantastic view. If you like, you can even take a guided tour 🎫 here before continuing on The way back offered us wonderful views of the Altmühltal landscape, but the highlight was waiting at the end in Riedenburg: a wonderful sunset 🌄 shining in strong colors, which bathed the Rosenburg and the Tachenstein castle ruins in golden and violet-blue light. An almost perfect end to this hike. 😃
A hike from Riedenburg through the beautiful gorge to Nusshausen, with its beautiful chapel. After the climb to Prunn Castle, we enjoyed a refreshing drink. On the way back, we enjoyed 27°C in April sunshine.
Magical round tour that should not be missed.
Today was again the opportunity to go on a tour with my son Thomas and my daughter-in-law Bianca. The start was on the Main-Danube Canal in Einthal. We passed wonderful Douglas fir trees through the gorge to Riedenburg. After lunch in the Fuchsgarten, we went on the other side of the canal to Prunn Castle, which is well worth seeing, and back to Einthal. All in all, a very, very nice hiking tour, I can recommend it to everyone. 👍🚶🚶👁👀🚶
Cold and muddy on the southern slope despite the sunshine, but enjoyed the sunny side of the Altmühltal on the way back.
