https://www.dietfurt.de/wege/naturerlebnisweg_kreuzbergweis-70/ This time we went to Dietfurt an der Altmühl. Follow the butterfly! The butterfly road sign symbol led consistently and reliably through an idyllic, varied round on mostly natural paths and single trails. The route repeatedly deviated surprisingly from the "obvious" path and led over grassy trails or narrow, rooted forest paths past lovable highlights, such as a colorfully decorated wishing tree, sayings on trees and even to a prominent stone edge on which a castle had once stood. These rather intricate "scavenger hunt" sections (the butterfly tumbled windingly through the terrain) alternated with beautiful far-reaching views from higher vantage points, e.g. the Kreuzberg and the Herzogstand. The peaceful valley floor of the Weißen Laber was also beautiful. There were two climbs in total. Right at the beginning it was (in my running direction) to gain height, past the Mariengrotte, up to the summit cross of the Kreuzberg, which can be seen from afar. About halfway, after a long descent, there was another climb just before the village of Oberbürg. With that you also earned the shandy in the beer garden of the Zucker in Oberbürg. The small, sleepy place was then also the turning point back towards Dietfurt.
𝘋𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘧𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘺𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘣ü𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘓𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘳 14 km / 300 hm over meadows, forests and along river meadows. On the juniper heather on Kreuzberg near Dietfurt, past the Lourdegrotte, the Ödenburg castle stables, always following the marking with the 🦋 and then once across the lively Dietfurt. 5 ⭐️ We recommend the historic Gasthof Stirzer with the finest regional slow food. Upper Palatinate (LKR Neumarkt) - border area Franconia 🤗😬 but just as far from N as the Franconian and really worth a tap.
