This route was planned by komoot.
For me this was one of the most beautiful ridge hikes in the best weather with fantastic views of the mountains around Oberstdorf and the Kleinwalsertal🥾⛰️☀️🤩👍 It's best to get there early during the week, then it's not so crowded😉 and you have the paths almost to yourself 😅
Really nice tour😍 with the exit unfortunately in the storm with heavy rain,🌧⛈️ hail and thunderstorms🌩⛈️, so that the Fellhornbahn almost didn't run. 😆
If your knees (each knee 😂) don't allow you to go on a mountain hike, but you still want to go up... you just take the cable car 🫣🫣 Take the Fellhorn cable car to the middle station and from there over the Schlappold Alp (respect @Nette 🇺🇦 and @Deejay for cycling up there 😎) to the Fellhorn ridge and walk the beautiful ridge path with many other hikers 😅. Great panorama 🤩 ... and a great view today 🙂 As it was mostly the less sporty hikers out and about, we didn't even stand out with our 🐌 pace 😅😅 Nice tour... and could be expanded to include one or two peaks if the opportunity arises
Absolutely brilliant panorama..... Even if quite exhausting.
To start my holiday in Kleinwalsertal, I went up from Riezlern with the Kanzelwandbahn. When you leave the mountain station, after a few meters you go straight up to the Kipfelkreuz on the Kanzelwand. After visiting the Kanzelwand at 1,957 m, I went back towards the mountain railway and then walked on mostly good, well-maintained gravel paths towards Fellhorn. The summit cross on the Fellhorn is at 2,038 m. From now on the hike became interesting. You walk along the Fellhorn ridge towards Söllereck. I only walked as far as Schlappolteck. Now it's downhill again. At the next alpine pasture you can take a good break and enjoy yourself. From there it's uphill again to Schlappoltsee. Where you can take another break with a view of the lake. Then it's back uphill to the mountain railway station.
Kleinwalsertal. By bus to Riezlern. Ride the Kanzelwandbahn to an altitude of 1,957 m. From here on the ridge hiking trail to the Fellhorn 2,038 m. Great views of the Allgäu High Alps and the Ifen massif. Continue on the ridge path to Schlappolteck 1,927 m. Here a beautiful view of Oberstdorf. Nebelhorn and the ski jump. From Schlappolteck the path went about 200 m deep down to the Schlappoltsee. Past the intermediate station of the Fellhornbahn, through a wooded forest area, we continued to the Kanzelwandbahn. By train to Riezlern and .IT by bus to Mittelberg.
Because of the high temperatures, today we took the Fellhorn cable car near Oberstdorf and instead did a small summit tour. The Kanzelwand, the Fellhorn and the Schlappolteck were on my route. Of course you are not alone up here, but at the back at Schippolteck you were almost alone and the great view all around was simply magnificent.
Allgäu Day 4 🥾🚲⛰️☀️🏞🙃.... From today on, I'm a "ridge walk fan" 🤩 We took the Fellhorn cable car up to the mountain station and from there started a fantastic circular tour 🥾🥰🥾 Unfortunately (!) we walked past the Kanzelwand (well, I would have loved to climb it 😅... but we wouldn't have had the time...), but the tour was a real highlight anyway 🥰: the Fellhorn summit (2037 meters above sea level), the Schlappoltkopf (1968 meters above sea level), the Gundkopf (1949 meters above sea level), the subsidiary peak of the Söllerkopf (1925 meters above sea level), and the enchanting Schlappoltsee lake were all along the way.... Of course, we also made a stop: at the Schlappolt-Alpe, we had delicious homemade buttermilk. 😋
