A beautiful hike on the Hönnepfad. We started at the hiking parking lot in Volkringhausen. It was mostly beautiful narrow paths. We made a detour to the Reckenhöhle. However, we did not visit it. We continued to the Feldhofhöhle. You could go far inside, it was very interesting! The trip to Balve was definitely worth it! It was like a day of vacation!
It was beautiful, our Hönnetal tour, because it has everything a hiker's heart desires, including a really exciting cave adventure in the Feldhof cave. But there was also a lot more to discover, e.g. a puppet theater in the woods, the legend of the 7 virgins, rippling water and beautiful views. You can find the complete tour description on the Wanderfrei blog at: https://wanderfrei.de/sagenhaftes-hoennetal-ein-hoehlenerlebnis/
It was a community hike with the SGV Menden today! We met in Menden and drove to the Hönnetal together. We were a total of 45 hikers. A nice little hike followed by a stop at the "Alte Schmiede" hiking cafe in Balve-Volkringhausen. There was grilled sausage and cake, as well as delicious cold and warm drinks. Fresh on from Elke
Hello everyone! We were out and about in the Hönnetal today with the SGV Unna! It was a lovely little hike followed by a meal of kale at Diepes in the Hönnetal in Volkringhausen. We walked in drizzle for a while, but it got drier later! The paths were muddy for the time of year, but with good shoes it wasn't a problem! We were also rewarded with delicious kale at the end of the hike. Fresh up from Elke
After a long break from hiking, today I headed to the Hönne Valley, which is close to me. The starting point is the hiking car park on Glashüttenweg in Volkringhausen. Parking is free here, by the way. The first section of the trail runs above the Hönne River and is very narrow and overgrown. Unfortunately, several "mosquitoes" attacked me at this point. 🦟 The trail led me to the Feldhof Cave and a lookout point from which you have a great view of the "Seven Maidens" rock formation, which lies opposite Klusenstein Castle. These are enchanted knights' daughters who couldn't get enough of a witch's potion. I highly recommend this route, characterized by rocks, caves, viaducts, and of course, the Hönne River, to everyone!!! 🥰
Many prehistoric caves, meadows 🐝 forests 🌳 the Hönne valley is one of the most important karst areas in Germany 🇩🇪 and has cultural and historical significance (monument to the inhuman ideology of National Socialism) An extremely beautiful area, ideal for all kinds of sports 🚴🧗🚶🏼♀️

It would be nice if there were instructions in the Komot about whether you can let the dog off the leash
