Like every year, swim, bike, run and eat cake.
The tour does not require any special technical skills. It runs largely on asphalt and gravel paths. At the beginning, the tour leads along the tracks of the Orb narrow-gauge railway in the direction of the Kinzig valley. At the level of the Schützenhaus, it goes uphill briefly. First with Bad Orb behind you and a view of the Kinzig valley, later with a constant view of Bad Orb, the Münsterhöhe is climbed. The climb is accompanied by boundary stones that symbolize Bad Orb's affiliation to the Kingdom of Bavaria and to the Electorate of Mainz. From here you reach the Haseltal via a short trail (mountain bikers who are not technically skilled should dismount here) and paved forest paths. Past the Haselweiher pond and a Kneipp facility, you reach the end of the valley. The "Haselruh" hunting lodge invites you to take a short rest. On the other side of the valley, the tour goes back to Bad Orb without any particular climbs. If you like it a bit more sporty, you can quickly ride one or two loops of the Tour Challenge on this section of the route. Shortly before you reach Bad Orb, you can take a look at old Bundsandstein quarries and the remains of a funicular railway that used to connect the Wegscheide with Bad Orb. Beautiful round based on template from spessartbiken.de. That's really the name of the tour. 😉
