The route is largely identical to the annual CFT event. It runs mainly on asphalt and gravel paths and is briefly interrupted by forest and meadow paths. From the start in Steinau, it immediately goes moderately uphill. Along the Schwarze Rolle and then along the Semmelsbach, it goes over to Seidenroth. After crossing the village, the route leads above the Happelsgraben on a long forestry path down to the eastern bank of the Kinzigtal reservoir. After circling it, there is the opportunity to refresh yourself at the Rimbach Farm and then follow the signs in the Rimbachtal to Marborn. Above Marborn, you should take a short break and let your gaze wander over the Kinzigtal and the expanse of the Spessart. After continuing on, you reach Ulmbach, which is also the highest point of the tour. A longer descent leads to the Steinaubach. On the state road 3179 you can take a short detour to the nearby Teufelshöhle cave or follow the signposts over the Steinaubach. Now it's another mighty climb up to the Ohlsteinbruch nature reserve before the forest opens up the view of the Kinzig valley and you can cycle back to Steinau on the R3 long-distance cycle path from Niederzell. Went on the road with new pedals today 😎. Felt good. I thought, the weather forecast is so bad, I'll challenge the rain and see if I get wet. But sure, not a drop. Not one! A couple of times there was thunder in the distance and I could see rain in the distance, but I stayed completely dry myself. The no. 12 had at least a slightly longer route than most of the other Spessart biking tours and with the Schafsteg an incredibly beautiful and idyllic highlight. But that was about it. Overall, the tour is of course nice to drive, but you are too spoiled by some of the others on the list. And there always has to be something on my tours. So just before the parking lot, when the tour was almost finished, a young man was in the way and didn't move. In a nutshell: It's good that I still had water, drugs suck, the ambulance came quickly. Get well soon, poor fellow!
