Easy route, forest paths throughout. Well signposted, also suitable for Nordic walking. Unfortunately there are no parking spaces for hikers, so head to the Petersklause or Ochsenschänke inns. Difficult in November, closed or reduced opening hours. Informing in advance is necessary.
In unexpectedly nice weather 🌤 we hike today on forestry and forest paths from Großbüchlberg to Ochsentränke. It's a beautiful and varied route and we have a lot of time to chat along the way 🙂 🏡At an altitude of 584 meters above sea level and surrounded by forest areas with numerous cycling and hiking trails lies the hamlet of Ochsentränk. The “Zur Ochsentränke” restaurant is located there. There was silence in the guest rooms for around 14 years - but that time is now over. Sepp Zauner (58) and Marlies Zauner-Zintl (55) have breathed new life into the inn. Also because they are currently doing the whole thing in their free time, the “ox drinking trough” is not always open. The offer is correspondingly limited for the time being. After snacking, we walk back past the Christoph-Pürner-Stein and the Marientafel. We soon reach Restaurant Petersklause, Freizeithugl with summer toboggan run and mini golf. We enjoy impressive panoramic views of the USA from the Lourdes Grotto.
