This route is part of the 251-kilometer-long Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail, which takes you over the highest elevations in the Sauerland. On this hike, you hike from Küstelberg over the Kahle Pön to Düdinghausen.
You start at the bus stop in the high-altitude town of Küstelberg on Heidenstraße. As you climb to the Hillekopfhütte, you can already enjoy the first wonderful views. The 785-meter-high Krutenberg also offers you fantastic panoramas. Shortly after the Diemelquelle, the Graf-Stolberg-Hütte invites you to take a well-deserved rest.
Strengthened, you follow the Sauerland-Höhenflug to the summit of the Kahle Pön, on which a rare high heath spreads. Past the Usseler Kreuz, you reach the summit of the Kalied, another great vantage point: you can see as far as the Kahler Asten and the Eisenberg. Three kilometers later, you reach your destination in Düdinghausen. The Medebach Düdinghausen bus stop is located directly next to the church.

Started in the cute Kuestelberg, we went through forest and fields in the most beautiful weather in the direction of Düdinghausen. Although I didn't expect much from the day, there was more altitude than I thought and the landscape had a lot to offer with beautiful forest sections and small gorges. The view was also really extensive and lovely. As an I-dot there was a stop at the Graf Stolberg Hütte, with cappuccino and waffles with forest fruits 😋. I'm happy 😊.
