This route was planned by komoot.
This morning we left at 07:45 and with the necessary Belgian traffic jams. Dunes in the Kempen? Anyway. After the last ice age, the sand blowing from the Grote Nete created sandy hills. Today you will discover an ancient and typical Kempen landscape in Geel-Bel: high, dry land dunes and low, wet stream valleys. The first 2 km we were a bit disappointed "hard roads and not much to do, but after that all our worries were forgotten and enjoyed it immensely. Three more days to go.
Nice walk with lots of variation. Sometimes parts of a large track where you can go a bit further back into the woods. Beautiful nature and enjoy the peace that the forest has to offer.
#The province of Antwerp #yellow Enchant the Land Dunes Walk of 9.2 km, of which 6.3 km are unpaved. A shortened route of 5.5 km is also possible. Dunes in the Kempen? Anyway. After the last ice age, the blowing sand of the Grote Nete created sandy hills. Today you will discover an ancient and typical Kempen landscape in Geel-Bel: high, dry land dunes and low, wet stream valleys. Starting place: ⛪ St. Lambertus Church, Bel, 2440 Geel. 🅿️ parking at the church (along Hoogstraat). Since the parking lot was already full, we parked at the Bel Parish Center a little further down the street. You immediately start with an unpaved path past the church towards KP 48. Especially at the end, there will be some paved roads to get back to your starting point, but no busy roads. You will also come across the busy ring road twice or just barely, where you will hear the noise of traffic. This time a fairly dry walk, with little mud and puddles. ☕ Catering along the way: 't Belshof
