This route was planned by komoot.
I got this walk from the Flemish Brabant Tourism website. It's best you don't copy my walk, because Komoot and GPS were acting strangely today. No GPS signal three times, and Komoot repeatedly sending me in the wrong direction. Parts of the walk are shown in bird's-eye views, and my speed is completely off. 🤔🙄 Still a recommended walk!
From the parking lot behind the castle of Kwabeek we walk through the castle park towards the first church on our route, the Sint-Hilarius church in Boutersem. This church has been deconsecrated in the meantime and is now used as a dance school. We walk on and after a few kilometers we stop at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Sterreborne chapel, rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1893, with a beautiful interior. We sit outside on the bench for a picnic, enjoying the wonderful autumn sun. We continue to the next church, the Sint-Michiel church of Butsel. This church has also been deconsecrated and is now used as an exhibition space. Further on we walk past the Sint-Anna church in Roosbeek and then we are on our way to the last church: the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Hemelvaart church of Vertrijk. Another two kilometers and we arrive at our end point after a beautiful walk along quiet roads and paths. A church walk. 😁
