caught some late afternoon sun again, while dark clouds were threatening to gather around it.
Marking: black fox paws on a yellow background or red fox paws on a yellow background for intermediate paths Route: Backhaus - Eicheltal - Birkenlache - Saukammer - Struthköppel - Buchwald - Klauzel - Hebischwald - Hof Zwiefalten - Eckhardsbachtal - Bornberg - Backhaus Route information: The circular route starts at a height of around 240 m and the highest point of the route is reached at Hof Zwiefalten at around 375 m. But be careful, there are some challenging passages and the sections of the path are not always suitable for prams. Along the circular path there are several benches and a seating group and a "heavenly lounger" invite you to linger on the geological tree hedge (Struthköppel). The circular route leads partly over grass paths and paths, as well as over developed field paths. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Sufficient parking is available at the village community center.
Start and finish was Eichelsachsen, a district of Schotten im Vogelsberg. The signposted path leads through fields, meadows and forest, you can see wonderfully far. The Hoherodskopf with its striking transmission tower also catches the eye again and again. A nice round!
The 🌞 beautiful weather used, with a very nice tour peppered with many far-reaching views 👁️❗ In addition to the geological highlights already described by the provider 👏👏👏, a lot of emphasis was placed on hiking trails on this tour 👍 This was implemented by bypassing most of the asphalt paths by creating meadow paths and hedge paths right next to them👏 (similar pattern to the mountain meadow path) There are also many rest stops🪑 placed along the route🙌🏼❗ ☝🏼 We recommend the 🅿️ at the DGH, which is spacious and not directly on the main street 😉 🥾stay wanderful 😉✌🏽
A great, varied and informative hiking tour with many natural paths. Really a premium hiking trail. A great achievement by the IGE (Acorn Saxony initiative group)
Since I had apparently overdone myself a bit with my tour the day before yesterday (yesterday I had more severe complaints in the operating area), I didn't want to give up completely today, but I decided to take a shorter route with fewer inclines. And I approached this “trace of nature” 🦊 very slowly. I had to constantly pull out my cell phone to capture the beautiful landscape (but it looks much better in person!) or take a short break to just enjoy the wonderful view. At times you feel like you are in an enchanted fairytale forest. 🌳🌲🌳I followed the large circular route, the “black fox paw”. But there are also 2 “shortcuts” (red fox paw), which means you can practically divide the tour into 3 stages. Kudos to the IGE, who are responsible for the markings, information boards and numerous seating areas: everything is maintained in an exemplary manner! 👌🏻I didn't miss an entry in the tour book. 📓🦊 Gladly again! 🙂
Today we headed back to the Vogelsberg. Starting in Eichelsachsen, we hiked the STRAUE OF NATURE, one of the Vogelsberg Geotours. It is rated as moderately difficult and includes some climbs. We chose the DGH as our starting point. The excellently signposted route featured several sights, our highlight being the Geological Tree Hedge. The trails were all well-maintained, so we had an excellent day of hiking with temperatures around *C and sunshine. ☝🏻For less experienced hikers, the tour can be shortened in two places. This results in family-friendly distances of 3.5, 5.5, or 7.5 km.
Today I spontaneously decided to go hiking. This tour has been slumbering on my watch list for a long time and finally wanted to be explored 😉. Quiet and with a great view of the Hoherodskopf, it went along the super signposted route. At the geological tree hedge then a short chat with an 80-year-old acorn-grown veteran, who probably makes himself comfortable there regularly and stops hikers for a short conversation and asks them 😆. All in all a really nice tour!
