Beautiful piece of nature just across the border at Maaseik. Fortunately waterproof shoes on, but boots would not have been an unnecessary luxury either. It is already a swamp area and after all the rainfall it was now more of a lake area. You really could not walk through a part of the route, a diversion had been made. And 1 plank that served as a bridge was just too short to get across completely dry 🤪 But beautiful walk, definitely recommended. And not busy with other walkers, I only encountered 2 on the entire route. Great 👍
At first I didn't want to go hiking for a weekend, until I saw JP's tour that he made on Friday. I hadn't been there for a while and now I couldn't resist. Due to the rain of the past few days, the wet areas that are already there have become really wet and you can walk through the mud and water wonderfully.
