Weiskirchen Wilderness Trail Dream Loop

That was another hike to my liking with a high proportion of paths and a warm spring.. what I liked best were the passages that went directly along the water.. the Hoherfelsen was a highlight and the small lake at the end. We found two beautiful stones and laid one out. The bat was at an exchange station, so we left it there. Lots of butterflies.. spring is here!

The starting point was the Weiskirchen natural forest outdoor pool. The name of the tour doesn't promise too much: it goes mostly on narrow paths up and down through wild, romantic forest, streams are crossed over several bridges and in some places today you had to walk through water or mud. You should be sure-footed and fit, the tour is marked as “difficult”. There are a few lengths in the second half of the lap, but the remaining kilometers towards the end, which run parallel to the 2 Valleys Trail, make up for it.

Conclusion in advance: finally gone!👍 Great way, many beautiful paths, beautiful forest sections and babbling brooks. Shares great sections with the 2-Täler-Weg and several times with the Hochwaldpfad. In addition, the top hiking weather today. Has done well again. 🍀😊

@Karin Here comes the tour in Saarland: The wilderness trail in Weiskirchen. The name makes me faint. 🥹 On the first section you walk along the stream. My water rat is also enthusiastic about it. I thought Susi's drinking bottle had been packed unnecessarily today. But after a few kilometers you leave the stream and start through the forest. There, after a while, you are also on normal paths and scrub a few kilometers. But from kilometer 10 you cross the paths of the water again and the tour is really fun again. This heralds the final sprint.

Perhaps the most relaxing way I know. 🤩 But with the km komoot fibbed a bit, maybe because the GPS was gone several times. (?) The path is officially a little over 17 km.

The Weiskirchen Wilderness Trail Dream Loop takes you deep into the quiet wilderness of the Hochwald forest – on natural paths through forests, V-shaped valleys, and former quarries. From the Wahnbachtal valley via the Behlengraben to the Herberloch, the route repeatedly features babbling streams, dense forest areas, and unspoiled sections. At approximately 17 km and almost 460 meters in elevation, it is challenging but rewarding for anyone seeking peace and quiet and authentic nature far from roads. Be prepared for changing paths, occasional steep sections, and plenty of solitude – here you can experience the forest with all your senses.

Very nice tour...it's best to go clockwise, otherwise more strenuous and time-consuming due to the climbs....very quiet passages on small paths through low and high forest....streams, rock formations, root passages, quarries and a beautiful one ,hidden lake ...recommended!Sturdy shoes are required!
