South of the Rhine, this challenging circuit gives you magnificent views of the Rhine Gorge and the Sardona Tectonic Arena, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route is technically easy and takes you past pretty Walser houses and hamlets.
You start at the Versam-Safien train station. The first highlight awaits you right at the beginning: the Islabord lookout point high above the Rhine Gorge. A fantastic winding road takes you through forests and meadows up to the alpine pastures near Calörtsch. You reach the highest point at the Brüner Alp. On the way back, you cycle first over Brün with great views and then comfortably through the forest.
