Pleasant hike from Sadnighaus (to reach by car on good nature road) on the Mohar. In good weather, a fantastic view of the Glockner mountains.

Trail Reviews

Christian Sell
August 2, 2023, Hohe Tauern: Rund um den Berg Mohar

Start and finish is the Sagnitzhaus, which can be reached by car, we chose the circular route from the Görtzer Törlden because the summit was in the fog in terms of time, but both don't make much difference, the circular route is longer but not nearly as steep, a stop at the Gasthof Grossglocknerblick is possible that is highly recommended

Very steep entry but located in the forest (shade) After that follows a very nice, almost horizontal passage towards the waterfall. From the waterfall up to Göritzer Törl comes the highlight... Everything is full of marmots... If you are nice and quiet and the wind is right. Behind the Törl you can still see a few marmots. The way to the Glocknerblickhütte is mostly downhill but it is steep, narrow and leads over a field of scree. It is a very shaky affair. Conclusion: A top tour just because of the marmots, provided you are sure-footed and fairly free from vertigo. Note... There are a lot of snow fields down from the Törl, very deep snow fields with rocks underneath!!! It is better to go around it with a wide berth.
