Tour No. 26 from the travel guide: “The most beautiful cycling tours in Brandenburg” Information about the tour: https://www.reiseregion-flaeming.de/poi/flaeming/radtouren/von-rittern-und-schlossherren/
Today we went for a little relaxing ride in the Fläming. We started from Bad Belzig to Eisenhardt Castle, continued to Wiesenburg Castle past Gut Schmerwitz to Hagelberg (the highest summit cross in Brandenburg at 201 m above sea level 🤔), and last but not least we arrived at the post mill in Borne, until we finally found our little one Completed the round again in Bad Belzig. There are well-signposted cycling and hiking trails in Fläming. Unfortunately, this often led on asphalt while forests could be seen on the left and right, but it should be mentioned that we encountered around 5 cars during the tour. I also thought it was nice that we drove past our first outdoor accommodation together outside of Leipzig and that we were able to look back at the “Off to Potsdam” tour from 2022 with @Pierre and @Marty.
We start in Wiesenburg, where we first explore the castle park. A highlight, especially in spring: daffodils are blooming everywhere, and the magnolias are showing their first blossoms – a colorful start! We continue via Neuehütten towards Hagelberg. There, the "summit storm" awaits: 201 meters above sea level – without any oxygen equipment, but with a sign in the summit book! The Hagelberg was long considered the highest mountain in Brandenburg, but has since been "overtaken" by the Kutschenberg. And the actual highest point in Brandenburg? That's somewhere else entirely... The route back leads via Borne, Grubo, and Jerserig to Wiesenburg. An all-round successful tour – there was hardly anything else going on, so there was little traffic, and the paths were often entirely ours. Especially in spring, this tour – or any bike tour in the Hoher Fläming region in general – is definitely recommended.
