This route was planned by komoot.
Contrary to the recommendation to start at the Belzig train station, our hiking boots felt asphalt, Brandenburg sand and stones of all sizes and shapes from the Steintherme car park. This tour includes practically all the important sights in Bad Belzig. Even a bit of art from the international art trail can be enjoyed along the way. The route doesn't really do justice to the name 'Panoramarundweg'. Only at our end, the short stretches in front of and behind the train station, with far-reaching views of the countryside or the city, make the round tour a panoramic tour. It's also stupid when benches are fenced in and can no longer fulfill their function. Otherwise, this tour is well signposted. And the ice cream in downtown Belzig was delicious too. 😋
Today we went for a longer hike. It was really great, the weather was kind to us. BUT: This injustice in the distribution of mushrooms. An unbelievable number of giant parasol mushrooms grew here. We could have filled all our travel bags from the path. We'll continue tomorrow... maybe we'll visit the Steintherme in Bad Belzig.
Reiseland-brandenburg.de/poi/flaeming/wandertouren/panoramwanderweg-rund-um-bad-belzig/?no_cache=1 A very varied circular route, up and down, always accompanied by beautiful - seasonally gray - views - no question. "Panoramaweg" - well - my expectations were probably set a bit too high, despite little foliage. It was probably the drizzle.
Unfortunately the weather was unfavourable for this tour. Many paths were icy and badly damaged by vehicles (traffic lanes). The signage was very good.
In the most beautiful sunshine we went to Bad Belzig today. You can park for free at the bus station (start of my round) or in the parking lot of the thermal baths, which is also right next to the tour. The path leads through the town, city forest, forest fields.. wonderful. It crosses the art trail and a concentration camp memorial. Back in town you can visit the Eisenhardt Castle and also stop off in one of the nice restaurants and let the day end. Or you can visit the thermal baths and relax the busy bones 😊
The Bad Belzig panorama trail mainly leads over golden wheat fields and through dark pine forests. The start is in the historic city center of Bad Belzig and then leads over the Eisenhardt Castle, after the castle you can get out of the city and into the forests mentioned quite quickly. The route has almost no asphalt parts, except in the towns. What the hiker's feet gratefully accept. Conclusion, a very beautiful and consistently well signposted hiking trail in the nature reserve of Hohen Fläming.
A nice round in the most beautiful Pentecost weather. At the end of the tour we shortened the dirt road by about 1 km - and then extended it again to the ice cream parlor 😉🍨
Today, as a participant, I went around Bad Belzig with hiking leader Ulrike Braun (www.wanderblues.de). We were on the trail of early spring - we didn't have to search for long. Everything was green and blooming - in white, yellow, pink and purple. The weather was a bit moody - initially windy, gray and rainy, later the sun fought through and the hiking group enjoyed blue skies. Around 20 people didn't let the weather forecast deter them and marched in a figure eight around and through Bad Belzig on the entertaining tour. Ulrike explained indicator plants for early spring and full spring and gave us insight into meteorological data that confirms our own observations: The winters are getting shorter and spring starts in mid-February. I particularly liked the small floodplain forest around the Belziger Bach on the first part of the route, where the miracle garlic gave off a garlicky aroma. A little later there is a less nice stop: the Roederhof concentration camp memorial - that is also part of the tour, and I thought it was important to pause there. After 10 km we took a break in the ice cream parlor at Postmeile, where coffee and cake were waiting. Part of the group said goodbye here, the rest marched a second time towards Eisenhardt Castle, but then branched off onto the hiking trails that lead there. Along the toad fence, turned past the “Flemish House” artwork and up the hill next to the fairground. Ulrike explained the formation of the dry valleys typical of Fläming - they are drainage channels from the last ice age. Then we had reached "Tuscany" - wide, undulating fields, avenues of pine trees - well, not quite, they were poplars. Also beautiful. Blue skies and sunshine lit up this final section and I enjoyed the space and the views.
