Already ridden 80 different MTB routes! And today mtbroute Nijmegen was number 81...💪 The TREK route Nijmegen goes through the forests of Westermeerwijk and De But. After the climb past the Africa museum, there is a lot of variety at De But in wider paths in addition to quite a few flowy, winding single tracks, tub bends, rollers and also quite a few elevation meters. The surprising “Double Looie Piep” descent has two switchbacks followed by several bucket bends. It is important here to properly match the speed to technical skill, I went too tight through a bend and scraped my shoulder, but hey, it's not ballet 😎 The northern part of the route runs through Westermeerwijk. The 6 kilometers of completely single track are quite difficult due to the rapid variation, many short and slightly longer vicious, steep climbs, descents and curves that require a lot of technique and physical ability. An hour there and an hour back with the bike bullie was more than worth it!
Very nice route, flowy-curvy with some snappy climbs. Good for starting after 2023. The ground is mostly very firm, some water collects in some low-lying sections, but it always remains rideable. D Thanks to the initiators We'll be back!
