This route was planned by komoot.
The Biedermeier hike in the Sparbach Nature Park leads to exciting places such as the Lenauteich and the Lepoldmühle, the Schacherplatz, past the "Today for Tomorrow" area, to the Dianawiese and the Diana spring, the Köhlerhaus, the Johannstein ruins, past the giant trees to the Johannstein island . For families, it is worthwhile to spend an exciting time in the adventure playground after a detour to the Wildlife Gallery. From there the path leads back to the visitor center.
After being sick, I took advantage of the beautiful day today to enjoy the autumn atmosphere in Sparbach. The hike is in the nature park, so only possible during opening hours. It is also closed in winter (approx. beginning of November until Easter) Right at the beginning we saw lots of wild boars. Then we went along the path, past the pond and the petting zoo with a detour to the fallow deer enclosure to the Johannstein ruins - an original castle from the 12th century. Continue uphill to the charcoal burner house ruins, across the Diana meadow with the triumphal arch and spring, back to the entrance. The other "ruins" on our path were built purely for landscaping. A beautiful path through the colorful forest, with several highlights and beautiful views of the Vienna Woods and the surrounding mountains.

Since the forecast was for nice weather today, I headed to Sparbach Nature Park. It's less busy on weekdays, and admission is included with the Lower Austria Card. Unfortunately, I only saw one wild boar... No worries, maybe next time 😀
