The starting point is the hiker's car park at the corner of Talsperrestrasse/An der Blutfinke, where you can usually find a car park even on sunny weekends. Various buses stop at the Ronsdorfer Talsperre bus stop. This hike is about 9 kilometers and 180 meters in altitude around the district of Ronsdorf, starting at the dam, via Holthausen down into the Gelpetal, past the Käshammer and Haus Zillertal and back up to the dam, from where we have a small hike Make a detour to the tranquil village of Heidt before we reach our starting point. Varied tour with wide paths and paths in alternation, wide views, through settlements, long stretches along the water. The area is popular - but wasn't too busy in January. Very nice tour. Detailed information about the tour can be found here: https://www.bergisch-mal-drei.de/wandern/rundwanderwege/wuppertal-ronsdorfer-talsperre#/de/bergisch-mal-drei/default/detail/Tour/t_100260208/rundwanderwege -wuppertal-ronsdorfer-dam
Today I took a walk around the Ronsdorf Dam. There is a lot of shade from the trees and water from the Gelpe and Saalbach. Simply wonderful. In the area of the Ronsdorf Dam there is a new forest adventure trail. There are many information boards explaining a lot of interesting facts about the forest, and there are also numerous, brand new wooden benches that invite you to linger.
Always beautiful, a pearl of Wuppertal😊 And in Zillertal there was coffee and cake on Monday. Highly recommended 😋
Nice little hike with waffles in just the right spot... Pretty brook valleys (Gelpe, Saalbach), the old Ronsdorfer dam, and a lot of "hammers" (of which one rarely sees the remains). Today in the fog, which had its own atmosphere...
It was cloudy, it was cold, but what the heck. Today was the first real hike in about 6 weeks. I'm not quite fit yet, but things are looking up. The weather really wasn't conducive to great photos, so you'll have to do the route yourself. I've walked all the trails dozens of times, but not all in one go. When the weather is nice, the area is really worth seeing, and you can learn something at the same time.
Today, I was out on my home run for the first time in a long time. The sun had beckoned, but then I chose to hide 🙄
Anyone interested in industrial history will find plenty to read and see along this trail. During my hike, I often imagined what it must have looked like in the past. This wonderful area seems to have been a bustling hub of activity. And then there's the pretty little reservoir, and so much more... The whole area is definitely worth a hike.
Circular hike based on the Ronsdorfer-Talsperre hiking trail, excluding the section through the hamlet of Heidt and from Jansenkotten continuing along the right bank path and through the Pöttges Gemark.
