This route was planned by komoot.
The Franche Montagnes Tour is number 712 in the Swiss mobile application. It is a pleasant tour, in communion with nature through meadows and forests, often with animal farms. The only tedious side is often the presence of gates which are intended to retain the animals. The Franches Montagnes Tour is number 712 in the Swissmobile application. Official Swiss mountain bike tour 712 in a romantic setting of the franches Montagnes. The many cattle gates are easy to open, but get annoying after a while
Finally to spend some time on the bike again😀. So my partner and I made our way to the Franches-Montagnes / Freiberge mountains to Saignelégier. We wanted to ride a lap on the Freiberg plateau today🚵♀️. We planned to use the Hippodrome / Halle du marché as the parking lot - but just - it was a market and the parking lots were accordingly overcrowded. So we went looking for another parking space and found it right on the edge of the village. Weather top at 16 degrees Celsius, we went on the MTB tour to SE. Immediately after leaving the village, we went on the signposted MTB path - away from the AUTO road - after a few 100m we plunged into the quiet landscape of the Freiberg mountains. Only the wind and the sound of the cowbells accompanied us✌️. Past the first herds of horses, we went through the beautiful hilly landscape towards the peat bog, Lake Etang de la Gruère. Past very beautiful farms - with their farm animals - such as turkeys🦃. Every now and then individual hikers or bikers but otherwise we were on our own in this part. After 7.5 km we turn onto a meadow trail and crossed the moor landscape - the individual spruce trees and the soft subsoil were wonderful. At km 8 then a small swamp passage of about 30m - which we then crossed on foot🐷🙈. The first dry stone walls followed and we continued in the direction of Les Mottes. Also great are the different underground variants - meadows, dirt roads, swamp😀, concrete and gravel paths - everything your heart desires😀😀. After about 10km then the first off-road passage - with oncoming traffic from the riders who appeared en masse on this piece. But thanks to the marked horse trails, this wasn't a problem at all. So we could also see the galloping riders in the shot. Nice👍. We continued in the direction of La Chaux des Breuleux. By then we had opened and closed countless gates / gates - here, too, we were positively surprised by the modern locking mechanisms - top modern👍. Shortly before Breeuleux, the open meadow landscape was transformed into a tree and forest landscape - where herd of cows and horses could also be found in it🤩. In addition, the 🌞 played along and it was mystical to curve through this landscape. So - and halfway through the tour we saw a neat restaurant "Chez Tante Eva" 😀 or Hotel Beau-séjour. A group of riders from Langenthal just made a stop and so we joined them and took a seat in the garden restaurant. Yes, and what followed was a culinary delight - the menu of the day - great and delicious. With a full stomach, the second part of the tour continued. Most of the roads were now paved and that also increased our speed - despite the fact that the landscape remained just as beautiful as before. The first wind turbines appeared and I felt like I was on the Way of St. James again😀😀😀. We finally reached Le Bois at km 29.5 via field and meadow trails. Here, after the train station, we followed the signs up to the hill - and were able to enjoy the panoramic view to the north and France🤩. A short descent on a gravel path and then a short cut up to the high path that we could fly on to Le Boéchet. Here, too, there is a beautiful, gentle hilly landscape interspersed with forests and dry stone walls🤩. Then at km 35 - a free running herd of 30-40 Freibergers with their foals. A next stop in Le Peupequignot was not possible - the parking lot was completely overcrowded. So we moved on to Le Noirmont - when we arrived here, today's mountain price followed up to 1075m above sea level. Here, the gentle landscape turned into the typical Jura mountains - stony and rugged. Nice and only short-lived it went back down into the gentle landscape. Now we start the final spurt - another small ascent with a short descent and we reached the destination in Saignelégiers. We looked at each other - and a big grin could be read on our face - we would have liked to have gone further😀😀. Conclusion: Comfortable MTB tour for the whole family👍👍👍 - the tour shows the beautiful facets of nature and the Freiberg horses of the Jura‘s 👍👍👍 - a highlight😀👍👍 for me
Leisurely round over the Jura hills. A bit chilly at the beginning, but then warmer but with a headwind. Round is easy, has no technical difficulties, unless you try to jump over the numerous cow gates with your bike 😊 But wonderfully scenic 🤩
