This route was planned by komoot.
Simone spontaneously called me yesterday and we decided that today would be the time for this beautiful tour. Said - done 😊 This wonderful circular tour meanders through forests, meadows and past moss-covered rocks and captivates with its magnificent views. Up it went to the Sickinger heights and past the heights of the valley; the path continues through the romantic Schauertal along bizarre boulders to the Ramerfels, where we unpacked our picnic; Potato salad and Wienerle 😋 We continued to the Hermersberger Wasserhaus, where we took a little break for a drink. After climbing to the small village of Hermersberg, we were rewarded with great views of the colorful Palatinate Forest. From the ostrich farm it went steadily downhill until we reached Waldfischbach-Burgalben again. It was a great tour, with perfect company in unique weather. It was really nice to be on the road with you again after such a long time. Thank you very much for your spontaneous idea, Simone 😍
With the Sickinger Höhenweg, a premium path should be tackled again. Somehow we could not really make friends with the way. There were some unnecessary loops that probably only served to gain kilometers. 🤷♂️. For the first 10 km we looked in vain for a rest area with a bench and table. So we made our breakfast break on a few old tree trunks. The paths themselves were varied. From narrow paths to paved bike paths, everything was represented. Refreshments in the Weihermühle and in the Hemersberger Wasserhaus possible. A second time the way is not on the to do list. Despite everything again spent a day in nature. 👍
This path has been on my list for a very long time. Today was the opportunity to hike the route off the list.🎄🥾 Except for the roundabout (roundabout) at Höheinöd, I am very satisfied with the route. When the weather is clear, I become a repeat offender The holiday had the advantage of having the way to myself 😇
I've had that on my list for a long time...the Sickinger Höhenweg! And my conclusion right at the beginning...you can walk, but you don't have to! It goes through valleys, over the heights, sometimes through the forest, then again over meadows. There are wide paths of all kinds, paths are to be walked... actually sounds good!? Overall, however, I found the tour over the 25 km a bit lacking in highlights. The most beautiful section is clearly around the Weihermühle and the Ramerfelsen, which I already knew from the Ramerfels tour. Maybe it was also the weather, everything is gray in gray today, no sunshine, almost nothing is blooming... some passages were a bit long. But I found the horse fountain great and the views from the Sickinger Höhe are beautiful. Despite all, not a bad tour... I also had a short journey.
Today we went to the Sickinger Höhenweg with Bettina. Nice that it worked out before the time change and we had a perfect day. By the way, we both thought that such a golden October day was just the right thing for this tour. We started in Waldfischbach-Burgalben and walked along the Klapperbach for a while before heading uphill on a beautiful path. We roamed the Höheneinöd and walked along meadow paths before we went down to the Weihermühle. Now we ran through the idyllic Schauerbachtal, through which the Sickinger Mühlenradweg also runs. leads, who also wants to be driven by me.😅 Now the Kugel- and Ramerfelsen followed, where we took our rest on a bench in the sun. Well-fortified, we first climbed up narrow paths and then descended to the Hermersberger Wasserhaus. There we treated ourselves to a spritzer and a shandy. It followed the Pferdesbrünnchen and then a long section at the top with beautiful views before it went back down to the car park at the train station. It was a wonderful hiking day with you, dear Bettina, and after we hadn't seen each other for so long, it was a pleasure to see you again.
Yesterday daughter's day, today father's day ... A really beautiful and really varied circular route ... I wasn't sure about the description, but a real recommendation ... great views, deep valleys, rocks, narrow paths ... plus fox, deer and squirrels. The signage is not always optimal - I had to look at the map every now and then. And today the men were mostly out and about with their wives ... so the customs change 🤔.
The region surrounding the 24.5-kilometer-long Sickinger Höhenweg is named after the last German knight, Franz von Sickingen, who once ruled there. The circular tour starts at the train station in Waldfischbach-Burgalben and first leads to the Sickinger Höhe (Sickinger Heights) to the Celtic burial mounds, which bear witness to the region's ancient settlement history. Passing the village of Höheinöd, you then hike through the idyllic Schauertal valley and on to the Hermersberger Wasserhaus (Water House), a restaurant that invites you to rest and enjoy a meal. The subsequent climb leads to the village of Hermersberg, with its ostrich farm. The trail runs past rocks through forests and meadows, offering wonderful views along the way. https://www.pfalz.de/de/route/sickinger-hoehenweg
Probably the last summer hike 24. Beautiful path. Worth it😊
