Hiking
There are several alpine pastures on this route. It starts from the Gnadenbrücke car park in an easterly direction. You hike slightly uphill and enjoy the view of the mighty mountains that peek out from behind the coniferous forest. If you haven't taken a break yet, you can do so at the idyllic Tauernkarsee. It's then only a stone's throw to the Tauernkaralm. Once you've arrived at the alpine hut, it's worth having a snack, as you'll be served traditional alpine dishes from the farm itself. Then you hike back along the route you've already known.

Today was the culmination of a wonderful hiking holiday
Be sure to eat the smoked trout at the alpine pasture.
Super nice hike accompanied by cows and as a reward a homemade apple strudel with whipped cream
I chose this family-friendly hike for my first tour. I actually wanted to go up to a peak, but the weather wasn't great in the morning, which is why I chose this route. From the Gnadenbrücke in Untertauern, where there is also a bus stop and parking, the 4.4 km long hiking trail no. 84 leads through a beautiful forest and alpine pasture area with only a slight incline. After 3.8 km you reach the crystal-clear, beautifully situated Tauernkarsee. 😍😍🥰 It is then only 600 m to the Tauernkaralm (1,658 m). The rustic adventure alpine pasture is nestled and sheltered from the wind in a mountain basin. One of the last alpine pastures that still has an original smokehouse invites you to stop and linger. (Very friendly service and delicious food) The Alm's offerings range from traditional Alpine dishes from its own farm to homemade pastries and smoked trout.
