This route was planned by komoot.
After my last tour around Melchsee-Frutt on October 3rd last year, I wanted to do the 4-lake tour soon. Now I was finally able to do it. The best place to park is at the Stöckalp cable car car park. In summer, this seems to be free. From there, we took the bus and train to Engelberg. The panorama was already amazing at the train station. Unfortunately, it was also very humid, which made the next few meters very difficult. The first few kilometers of the path are actually only uphill, sometimes flatter, but then steeper again. But meter by meter, the view over Engelberg becomes more worthwhile. After a few kilometers, the view of the Titlis glacier opens up as it clings to the steep mountain. A short time later, we reach the first lake, the Trüebsee. Since this can be reached by cable car, there is a lot going on here. Afterwards, we go to the highest point of the tour, the Jochpass. Once you've reached the top, it's worth taking a break to let the view sweep down over the Trüebsee and the surrounding mountains. The next few kilometers flow by like this, we can just let it go and enjoy the amazing views. The Engstlensee is the next pretty lake on this tour. An event for the national sport, wrestling, took place on the Alp of the same name. I'd never seen this before, super exciting. From the Alp, it goes up again towards Tannenalp and Tannensee. Here, too, the hustle and bustle gets bigger again, there's even a little train from Melchsee-Frutt. There's not too much distance between Tannensee and Melchsee. Unfortunately, the lake was in the shadow of the clouds. But the mountains were beautifully reflected in it. The last few kilometers were then just a descent to the valley station of the cable car with wonderful views of the valley. Of course, you can also take the cable car down. https://www.relive.cc/view/vAOZ21PAxoO
