A very nice arrangement of a large photo frame, with a nod to the cartoon character Kiekeboe. The perfect location to capture an unforgettable memory with the dune landscape and the Spioenkop in the background.

Trail Reviews

Willem VS
January 18, 2026, Wenduine: De Duinbossen

I received this tip in my inbox from "visit West Flanders." So it turned out to be a sunny Sunday at the seaside. It also turned out to be a lovely walk through the dune forests and back along the beach between Wenduine and De Haan. And meanwhile, the 2026 cycling trip is slowly taking shape. 🤩

Through the forest to De Haan and back along the beach at high tide.

Short vacation in Belgium; take a breather on the beach. From what people say about the Belgian coast, De Haan is supposed to be the most beautiful place of all. I can't say whether it is the most beautiful, but it is definitely very nice here. Probably one reason why so many other people traveled here and probably just as many came today to see the "Belle Epoque" festival. We decided to go on a beach/forest hike to Wenduine and found the peace and quiet we were looking for here. We arrived in Wenduine at lunchtime after a wonderful walk on the beach and were treated to delicious treats at the frituure at royal prices - unbelievable! Despite the threatening weather, we returned to the starting point with dry feet. The route to Wenduine leads along dune paths or along the sea; on the way back, a path through the forest has been bravely paved - but who is surprised with the cuisine.

Along the beach to De Haan, and back to Wenduine via the dune forest.

Start at Wenduine Molen (mill). It first goes briefly through the dunes to the sea. From there it goes on to de Haan. A section without high-rise buildings. No high-rise buildings are allowed in de Haan and it is architecturally very attractive. It goes back through the forest.

A beautiful loop from De Haan aan Zee to Wenduine, along well-maintained paths that are easy to walk in any season. It runs along the seafront and through the nature reserve. Easily accessible by tram.

Almost got swallowed by the sea while taking photos on the sand dune 😅🙈☺️

A leisurely walk through the protected dune forests with funny carved wooden figures. Coffee break in Wenduine and then back directly to the North Sea beach. Since it was low tide, you could also find beautiful shells in combination with a Kneipp walk...
