This route was planned by komoot.
Photo hike with "Fotowandern.com" The starting point was the hikers' meeting point in Niedersachswerfen. Unfortunately, just by looking at the thermometer, it was clear that the fire salamanders wouldn't be making an appearance. Nevertheless, I was excited to see what awaited us on the circular trail. We passed small pools and ponds, then climbed steeply. At the top, we were greeted by a hare in a vast meadow. We rested on a comfortable bench and were able to observe birds of prey, skylarks, wagtails, and several other animals. The absolute highlight, however, were two eagle owls that we spotted on the way back. A truly beautiful hike that will surely have a lot more to offer in warmer weather. Many thanks to Cordula and Andreas for the friendly hiking guides and the interesting conversations.
Beautiful varied route. Beautiful white rocks, narrow paths, rolling open fields, views of the quarry and a few climbs! We also came across a number of abandoned houses, some of which had been absorbed by nature. Lovely walk! The speed that Komoot indicates is not correct by the way😅 we walked a bit slower.
Highly recommended 👍😊. Small circular route suitable for families (but without prams, as there are stairs), very well signposted with beautiful highlights. Great praise !!!
One of the most beautiful short hikes. Certainly something special in every season.
The "Fire Salamander Trail" leads along the foot of the Mühlberg and crosses open spaces and dense beech forest. The paths are varied, mountain hiking trails, meadow trails and forest trails. Highly Recommended!
