Summer walk in April in National Park Zuid Kennemerland. This is a national park in the province of North Holland west of Haarlem characterized by a dune and beach wall landscape. It covers the southern part of Kennemerland and is located on the territory of the municipalities of Bloemendaal, Velsen and Zandvoort. Beautiful walk with a bit of climbing and descending, with the highest point being the Brederodeberg (45 meters). Many lakes where, given the lovely sunny day, it became increasingly busy with recreationalists at the water's edge as the day progressed. We had a drink outside on the terrace at the visitor center and then headed home.
Roaming through the dunes... who doesn't get happy from it, okay maybe the calf muscles that find the loose sand here and there a bit less funny, but they will recover! Entrance Koevlak was the starting point in the National Park today and again a nice Dutch "Drei-Seen-Weg" walked along 't Wed, the Vogelmeer and Oosterplas respectively, it all started a bit gloomy this morning, but at the beautiful Vogelmeer... and where can you have that better than here, pieces of blue appeared and the sun started to interfere and who am I to say anything about that... you won't hear me 😎😅 Everywhere I saw traces and indications that there were grazers around but still nothing seen, and at the last lake my patience was richly rewarded... I was treated to a few remarkable bathers from Scotland 🏴🦬💦🤿 I couldn't have wished for a better icing on the cake and once again enjoyed a versatile - and I may say one of the most beautiful dune walks in this region 😊👋
The sky was gray and gray, the weather was cold and inclement but none of that mattered because it was dry, we were able to get a nice breath of fresh air and that also in one of the 21 beautiful National Parks in the Netherlands! 👌🏻🤩
Beautiful slow walk in the winter with wide dune landscape and beautiful dune lakes where you can swim in the summer. Now it is peace and quiet for the water birds and a cormorant colony on sunken treetops. In the winter, the walker can enjoy views over the lake or stroll along the water. In addition to beautiful dune lakes, the dune landscape is interspersed with pieces of forest where the whoosh of the wind blowing through the branches rolls behind you as you walk the path between the tall pines. After warming your hands and inner man with a cup of tea on the remains of what must once have been a bench, you are treated to (wet) snow. Great! Well seriously, what more could you want?
A Slow Tour through the Kennemerduinen. The entrance is at the Koevlak/visitor center. Via the Oostermeer to the Brederodeberg, the highest point in the region. To the Vogelmeer, to a viewpoint and finally via 't Wed back to the visitor center. What a nice backyard it is.
