Wonderful weather in a wonderful environment, enjoyed this route.
The Roots walk starts at Maarn Station, after which you quickly walk out of the village and onto quiet forest paths. Although you walk almost the entire route through the forest, it will not get boring quickly. From wide avenues to narrow forest paths, everything is covered during this walk. De Kaap lookout tower gives you a beautiful view over the forests, but it is very busy here on weekends. Fortunately, you can quickly continue walking and start your way back to Maarn along winding forest paths. Recommended to stop at Joli Cafe for a delicious cup of coffee or something tasty. This nice mini coffee bar is located next to Maarn Station and is a nice ending to this 12 km route.
