Moselsteig Side Trail: Klüsserather Sagenweg

Very nice round. The starting point was at the top of the vineyard, with a view of the Moselle valley. All in all, a very nice round (despite the weather, it was foggy at the start and very muddy throughout) that absolutely deserves the premium certification. Today I took a look at the detour 'Klüsserather Sagenweg' in the best weather. I started at the Wetterstation hiking car park (completely full because it's small...better to park in the village and take the access road). At the beginning there was a very beautiful section with narrow paths, which unfortunately very quickly turned into normal vineyard and forest paths. About halfway there was another section with beautiful narrow paths...and again at the very end. In between there were unfortunately only wide forest paths. The view is really beautiful along the entire route...lots of Mosel, lots of vineyards. An absolute plus of this hiking trail...there are lots of very nice rest areas. All with a beautiful view. Conclusion: you can do it to get some exercise...but you don't have to.

Very nice way. At the beginning and the end there is a wonderful view over the Moselle valley. In between beautiful forest paths and paths. You should aim for an early start (we left around 8.30 a.m.), at the end of the day we were pretty busy today. ☀️😀

After the many forest tours with the holiday Wauzili, I was really longing for views and distant views, and so the choice quickly fell on the Moselle as a starting point, and the Moselsteig trail, the “Klüsserather Sagenweg” side jump, which had long been on my wish list. Start / finish point: Klüsserath weather station above Klüsserath (If you want to climb a few more meters, you can also start from the Maria Rosenkranzkönigin church in Klüsserath) A very nice, varied hiking trail for my taste (I walked it counterclockwise). With great views of the Moselle, short but crisp climbs in between and always nice resting opportunities. For me, the mix of vineyard trails, forest trails and the proportion of trails was pretty balanced. Somehow, however, I overlooked the 3,500-year-old menhir at the Eselsratt lookout point. Well, I was also able to enjoy the shale on the lap. ;-) People and animals alike really enjoyed today's hiking tour, which was initially the last with the holiday Wauzili.

In my opinion, a great hike. It has everything: beautiful views of the Moselle. A path through vineyards, meadows and forests. A bit of everything. Very varied.

This premium hiking trail leads through a varied and typical Moselle wine and cultural landscape. The path also runs through some forest stretches in a varied way. Hikers are offered wide, beautiful views across the Moselle valley to the Hunsrück. Very nice!👍🏼 Finally, you can enjoy a glass of wine 🍷 with the best view at the start and finish point. 😉 You can buy it in the vending machine. ℹ️ID required for age verification!😅🤷🏻‍♂️

A hiking trail that is absolutely worth it! Includes everything that makes a hiker's heart happy!
