Ehingen SpazBierweg (Beer Trail)

In Ehingen, beer culture is lived and breathed – it's no coincidence that the town on the Danube is nicknamed the 'Bierkulturstadt' (City of Beer Culture). Ideal conditions, therefore, to get to know the local breweries on this hike of a good 14 kilometers. From Ehingen station, it's just under 100 m to the tour.

At the beginning of the circular hike, you walk through the town center and have the chance to taste the house-made hop juice at four historic breweries right away. At the inner-city breweries Schwanen, Adler, Schwert, and Rössle, you'll find, among other things, lovely beer gardens for a convivial break. Well-fortified, you then hike out of town and towards the Danube.

The path leads you through the Donauried on a nature experience trail to Nasgenstadt. Extensive renaturation measures have returned this habitat to animals and plants. Perhaps you'll even spot beavers, storks, or a kingfisher.

In Nasgenstadt, you cross the Danube and walk along the riverbank for the next stretch to Berg. Thirsty? Then a stop at the Berg Brewery is just the thing. With fresh energy, you then head back to Ehingen. There, you can make yourself comfortable in one of the city's beer gardens to round off the hike. Cheers!
