So today a shorter tour but a very nice one, the video will be available again later on YouTube under Schönbuch Gams
Hello in the evening! After yesterday's gigantic evening in Kirchheim with like-minded people 😍 --- it was just great! Thank you again for being there! I wanted to go hiking today ... not knowing that it would take me to my limit today! If I had listened to my mom! She also said, child, do you really want to go on a tour after yesterday you already "exhausted" yourself a bit? ... so and there, of course, I didn't listen to it ... but if you don't want to hear, you feel ... good. Still, this tour was awesome! Even if you like the panoramic eaves better, this was probably the queen stage, as you can read on the website. You start comfortably from the parking lot and after not too long you will reach the Böllat. The most beautiful vantage point on the tour! The height didn't bother me at all ... what a miracle! Three women who also hiked the same tour then took a picture of me. Actually, Zoya should have been on it, but you see ... only the head ... 😂. Then it goes downhill and then down over great root paths, then on a gravel path to the sequoia trees ... three of them are there, mighty and large and very high ... that doesn't look so good on the pictures! Then it goes up to the Schalksburg tower .. there you can walk a short lap, highly recommended, as you then come to two viewpoints again .. Then you have to go down again and then the first effort came for me, again a gravel road and steadily uphill partly in the sun .. Once at the top there was the sign - sea of rocks - only for experienced! Yipieh! Then you go ... 😂😂 you have to try it ... and I thought it wasn't that bad ... Zoya just had to wait every now and then.😎 but otherwise a mega area, if you imagine that all of this was once under water ... sometimes you have to climb over the rocks, so you really need to be careful. Once at the bottom, it then goes leisurely and then down over hay meadows. Then we were finally at the creek! And Zoya enjoyed the cool water ... on the gravel road it goes to the Kneipp facility and then for me to cool down ... that was so great! Then we had 5 kilometers ... and it was tough ... it goes steadily uphill, sometimes steep ... and it cost me a lot of strength ... for whatever reason (oh yes, there was something yesterday😂) and always if I thought I had to be upstairs now, it was still a bit higher .... Zoya had to take a few breaks too ... I think I just stood there every 5 meters .... luckily it kept coming back mild breeze .. that was good ..... then comes to the Heersberg .... spacious and with pine trees ... that was great .. from there again great views or views .... go along the eaves then back to Burgfelden .... a couple gave me the tip I should go to the Waldcafe there, they have delicious cakes .... I would have loved to have made that and I would have loved to have had a drink ... because from the Kneipp facility I ran out of water ... but unfortunately all the seats were taken ... and so we just trotted on through the town, a little more ... and then we were back at the car ... The views, the sea of rocks, that I was able to do all the hillside paths and all the paths, that the height was no longer a big problem, these are my highlights today and maybe I can do the path again at some point when I am completely fit 😎😌. I send you my best regards and wish you a nice evening and a nice Sunday! In the hope that the forecast is not correct and that we will at least have another sunny day tomorrow 😌🙏🏻🥰 🙋♀️🐾
Always great to bite the mountain three times. On the third ascent, the path knows only one direction anyway: up. Unfortunately, after the tour, I happened to come across the Taufgänge website that the route is closed until March/April due to logging, among other things. Well. Guggsch num, guggsch rum...
My first real hike in 2025, and it was such a blast 🤣 3 steep climbs with gradients well over 20%, and of course the longest and toughest one right before the end. After that, I was exhausted 😅 This Traufgang is considered the king of Traufgangs, featuring all facets of the Swabian Alb. The official highlights of this circular tour are: - Distant view from Böllat - Heersberg ridge - Sea of Rocks - Schalksburg Tower - St. Michael's Church in Albstadt-Burgfelden - Giant Sequoias I personally really enjoyed this hike because the wide meadows alternated with forests, so it never got boring. The Sea of Rocks is interesting, but definitely only suitable for those with good footing. The website for this tour lists 723 meters of elevation gain, and that's exactly how it felt. Komoot shows a little less. However, I took the right path. Maybe someone with a Garmin or other good GPS device can measure the elevation gain on this route. 😉 https://www.albstadt-tourismus.de/tour/traufgang-felsenmeersteig-in-albstadt-021e88da9e
At a good 17 kilometers and approximately 600 meters in elevation, the Felsenmeersteig is the most challenging of the Traufgänge (ridge walks). The first highlight, with a fantastic view from the "Böllat," isn't far behind. The gigantic landscape continues with the giant sequoias. You walk through a bizarre rock world, and a pub offers refreshment before the next ascent. All this and much more is covered on paths, but also on wider trails in some sections, which doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the hike. And if a bench is occupied, the next seating area isn't far behind on the Traufgänge (ridge walks).
Very demanding route and you are alone.

The Heersberg (No. 6) is drawn in the wrong place on the map, it is there at km 13.6 but is actually only reached at 14.6.
