Hiking

With this tour you let yourself be embraced by the wild Lagorai with its magnificent views and you walk over the remains of the walkways of the First World War, also looking out at the tunnels in the rock, the soldiers' refuge.

The starting point is the car park you find before the bridge towards the Valmaggiore hut on the road from Predazzo.

From here, you immediately take the Cece and Miesnotta path (n° 336) which leads you, among the tall trunks, to Lake Cece: a splendid body of water at 1,879 meters above sea level.
Continue on the same path which begins to climb more steeply towards the Caserina lake and the Cece pass. Path 349 then takes you through some technical passages where you need the help of your hands.

Taking the detour, you arrive at the top of Cece: the highest peak in the Lagorai group with its 2,754 meters of altitude. After a well-deserved break to admire the priceless view, go down to the Forcella di Valmaggiore walking on the remains of a pavement up to the Paolo and Nicola bivouac. You can find remnants of the First World War and not far from the structure there is a water supply point.

To return to the starting point, follow path 335 which first descends sharply and then glides gently to the car park.

Paolo e Nicola Bivouac

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Paolo e Nicola bivouac is located at 2,180 meters above sea level on the Valmaggiore pass. In its surroundings there are still remains of the First World War.

The bivouac was built in 1974 in memory of Paolo and Nicola di Predazzo, who died on the Sella Group on 30 June of that year, and rebuilt in 2011 by the volunteers of the CTG "Lusia".

Here it is possible to sleep (there are 9 beds) and cook, there is a water source a couple of hundred meters from the structure.

Excursion on well-marked paths but in some points a little narrow or uncomfortable as you have to walk among the stones, without a trace, following the paint marks that are always present
