Today we decided to go on a tour in the biosphere reserve on the summit hiking trail😀. The sun was actually supposed to be with us today, but I'm afraid it just wasn't in the mood today😉. It wasn't so bad for us because you could still see enough despite the haze and cloudy sky. We tried as best we could to stay on the summit hiking trail, but we didn't manage to do that the whole time. But we managed about 90% of the tour. The Rennsteig also accompanied us very often😍. We started in Goldlauter and from there we went over the big Eisenberg, the big Finsterberg, the Fichtenkopf, the Sachsenstein and the Schneekopf😀. We saved the highest peak in the Thuringian Forest (big Beerberg) until the end. The tour today was a lot of fun despite the lack of sun😍, there were lots of beautiful forest trails and other beautiful viewpoints along the route and the views were good despite the hazy weather (not great, but good😉). Let's see what the weather will be like tomorrow. We'll just wait and see🤣. For all stamp hunters😉 we had the following touring stamps today: NR. 64 (Großer Eisenberg) NR. 65 (Großer Finsterberg) NR. 66 (Fichtenkopf) NR. 67 (Sachsenstein) NR. 68 (Schneekopf) and NR. 69 (Großer Beerberg)😘
Since I had the problem this morning that I hadn't set the alarm clock and my smartphone wasn't charged, I didn't continue with the Weserbergland path today, but it became a tour in Thuringia. In the RE 7 in the direction of Würzburg, I then picked out this short quality hiking trail that I had always wanted to do, but for which you might need the right weather, which was the case today. The hike definitely inspired me because of the many attractive spots that are headed for here and the varied paths. With the Schneekopf and the Großer Finsterberg, two of my absolute favorite peaks in the area are included. Rostbrätel in the Liftbaude was also very tasty. All in all, one of the tours that you absolutely must have gone on in the Thuringian Forest.
A very beautiful tour, part of which also leads along the Rennsteig trail. Great trails and some short, challenging climbs.
Oh, how I missed the charm of the Thuringian Forest on the Baltic Sea ☺️ . ... My legs, which were apparently still in flatland mode, reached their limits today, because I was finally able to tackle the summit tour - it had been on my bucket list for a long time ☺️ ... The paths are well signposted - except for the last few kilometers in Goldlauter 🔺. However, this meant that I took a wrong turn at the very end and then got caught in the rain 😜 ... I had to look for the Eisenberg stamp box quite a bit, even though Easter is already over 😅 and the first climb or the start of the tour is also tough 🥵 , but perseverance is rewarded with numerous views - for example, I didn't know the Sachsenstein yet, and I also visited the Teufelskanzel below the Schneekopf for the first time today... and I'll definitely stop by again ☺️🤗 !
The summit hiking trail leads over seven mountain peaks at over 900 meters above sea level. On this hiking trail you can experience the highest peaks in the Thuringian Forest. And what better way to do such a tour than with nice people. And they met today at the Schmücke to hike together. Thanks to @Belinda, @Deleted User, @Dani, @Ricardo R and @thomas.nbg_goho for the great day! We chatted and laughed a lot, which also led to one or two mistakes on the tour😅 I'm looking forward to everything that's still to come: @Dani the offer with the Hainich is still available😉 @Ricardo R I'm looking forward to the Zugspitze tour🙈 @thomas.nbg_goho Forststeig - we'll keep at it. @Belinda it's a shame you weren't there the whole time🙂 @Deleted User great conversations with you, see you. To be continued hopefully soon, if we can find common dates😅
This day was just a dream... A tough tour with fantastic views, springy forest paths, small climbing areas, mostly intact trees, nice people and nature blooming and sprouting in all colors. The yellow pollen of the spruce covered everything and there was also a delicious 🍨 at the end in a hidden beer garden. Just a day to enjoy 👍
The tour is really crisp and sporty. It goes up almost 400 meters in altitude right at the beginning. The paths are well signposted, making it fun to walk. Especially since you actually hike the highest mountains in Thuringia. Unfortunately, forest work is currently being carried out on the ascent to the Salzberg, which is of course not good for the paths. Suhler Hütte and Schmücke are closed for the whole of November. Have fun hiking the tour By the way, there are 6 stamps on this route
Today I took part in a group hike organized by @Peter. Thank you for the invitation and organization! I'm getting in touch about the Forststeig. I hiked the tour itself a few years ago and it's probably the most beautiful day tour in the Thuringian Forest with some very beautiful viewpoints and lots of elevation gain. The hiking group was also very suitable and I was happy to get to know @Belinda , @Deleted User , @Dani and @Ricardo R in person.
