Capo Testa Loop

This short and fascinating circular excursion will take you to discover the spectacular granite landscapes of Capo Testa and the magical Valle della Luna.

Starting from the large car park at Cala Spinosa, follow the road towards the lighthouse, but soon take a well-trodden path. This leads you to a breathtaking viewpoint at the northern end of the cape. From here, explore the interior of the cape, among suggestive rocks, until you reach a large clearing. The path turns south, plunging into the rocks right next to the former Capo Testa traffic light.

The track descends gently to Cala Francese. From here, head inward to arrive at an old spring. Zigzagging between fields and rocks, you finally reach the picturesque Cala di L'Ea, or Cala dell'acqua. From here, ascend the extraordinary Valley of the Moon, a surreal place of primordial beauty. You may meet young hermits, heirs of the hippie culture of the 60s.

The path, now more marked, goes up the valley and easily leads you to a dirt road. From here, return to the asphalt road that will take you back to the starting point.
