This route was planned by komoot.
We have wanted to walk this premium hiking trail for a long time and the opportunity arose spontaneously when the weather was good. Is a nice hiking trail that you can walk, but certainly not have to. The main attraction comes from crossing the border into Switzerland and hiking along the border for a longer period of time. The view of the Rhine at the beginning and end is also nice, but for a long time you walk around on fairly straight, unspectacular paths in the forest. Unfortunately the Nikolauskapelle was also closed at the beginning of the tour due to Corona. I have attached many pictures of the remaining “highlights” ... 😀
Start: Parking lot at the Hochrheinschule. Large, free parking lot. Comfortable hike along the border between the worlds. https://www.hegau.de/_Grenzgaenger_.281.html
Information about the tour is available here: https://www.bodenseewest.eu/touren/hegauer-kegelspiel- Grenzgaenger
Please do the tour in the other direction - the views of the wider world are better. Otherwise, this is a really well-signposted tour. Across the border, it's great that it worked out. But otherwise, it's more in the "boring" category and too much in the forest. Hardly any views, little that calls for a repeat. But the area itself - always worth a trip and a tour. Great area, lots of variety.
Unfortunately, we have waited in vain for the elements that make this tour a premium hiking trail. We prefer the predicate "quite nice". At least the path is well signposted, you have to admit that, and the information boards (there aren't that many) were also quite interesting. Unfortunately, the Nikolauskapelle was closed due to Corona and could not be visited. If the weather had been more favourable, one might have caught a glimpse of the Alps, but the whole thing was rather disappointing. Conclusion: You can do it - but you don't have to. Let's see how the other bowling tours are.
Hello, everyone! Despite the lack of sunshine, we were driven into nature. From the Hegau bowling game premium hiking trail series, we liked the "border crosser" and so we set off. The parking lot is part of a clinic, free but we stood on the edge so as not to disturb anyone. In general, one can say of the route that there is far less premium and less panorama than promised or expected. With a bit of luck and in good weather conditions you can probably actually see the Alps, but the viewpoints are very limited. One rarely catches a decent glimpse of the Rhine either - high-rise buildings or industry are often the scenery. All in all, the path is well signposted and walkable, also relatively entertaining if you're in good company 🫶 - however, there are much nicer forest paths and you expect the premium highlight around every corner, which ultimately doesn't happen. Hard to recommend, unfortunately. ❤️🤍🤍🤍🤍 That's it from me - your Lili. 🏔💕
Beautiful, a bit challenging along the Rhine as it was still wet and slippery. The weather was perfect and the journey there and back with the SBB was perfect. Recommended!
