Very beautiful hike, point of view on the lake of greenhouse ponçon on the way up, then from the summit and all along the ridge. (Possibility of extending the hike by following the ridge on the head of the Old) the Morgon circus is magnificent with the sheepfold in the background and the lake of St Pierre (well it looks more like a pond lacking water). .From Boscodon Abbey (5 km of track)
A fantastic hike up to 2,324 m on the Pic de Morgon. The final 4 km of the drive to the Le Grand Clot parking lot at 1,720 m leads over gravel roads with deep potholes. Google sends you on the fastest route over even longer gravel roads, which we avoided by taking a 4 km detour. From there, you have to walk 2 km to the start of the circular trail and then return. The path over the ridge is difficult, and you need to be very careful, sure-footed, have a head for heights, and do some climbing. You'll be rewarded with a magnificent view! Along the way, we saw marmots, and an eagle circled the top of the peak.
Circular hike Pic de Morgon 2324m A demanding hike with dangerous passages (approx. 200m), but definitely recommended. The 360° panoramic view of Lac de Serre Poncon. The marmots can also be seen.
The driveway to the parking lot cost €5 and is very strenuous. Very rocky and uneven path. It's best to have all-wheel drive. You should come early to get a parking space or maybe in the afternoon. The hike is sometimes strenuous but very beautiful and recommendable.
An amazing mountain, unfortunately a thunderstorm came when we were up, so we had to see that we came down quickly 🤔

The Pic de Morgon is a must-see hike in the area and offers an XXL panorama of Lake Serre-Ponçon. The return on an aerial ridge allows you to vary the pleasures.
