A bike trip with the family is a great idea. You are in the fresh air all day and can explore the area with the children. This family tour is flat and mostly leads along well-developed bike paths. This makes it easy for the little ones to master.
From the Neustadt you follow the Elbradweg via Kaditz to Altkötzschenbroda. There are already opportunities for refreshments with ice cream. In Kötitz you cross the Elbe by ferry and drive on the other side of the Elbe towards Dresden. The Gohliser windmill with a beautiful beer garden is right on the way.

A beautiful sunny day lured us to the Elbe Cycle Path in the direction of Meissen. At Gauernitz we took the ferry to Kötitz and drove back to Dresden. Unfortunately, the recording was stopped unnoticed at Ballhaus Watzke. We were lucky enough to see a short performance by the Kreuzchor on the stairs to the Brühlsche Terrasse. In total it was about 60 km.
A short Sunday morning walk in the awakening spring 🚴♂️💨, one side of the Elbe, Kötitz ferry, the other side back. The wide Elbe meadows: a dream!
After the Yamaha season opener, another leg-powered round at the Italian restaurant in Radebeul: https://www.la-famiglia-radebeul.de As always, the delicious "Spaghetti aglio e olio" (oil and vinegar) is served at a very reasonable price of €9.90. The service, as always, was friendly, quick, and accommodating. The 30mm Flack is on loan from the Dresden Military History Museum and is located on the grounds of the Marinekameradschaft Dresden 1896 e. V.
Emilie Mayer, born in Friedland (Mecklenburg) in 1812 and died in Berlin in 1883, lived in the 19th century, unmarried and childless, completely devoted to music. In her time she was a well-known composer whose works were performed throughout Europe. On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of her death, two musicians and one musician commemorated the composer with a concert in the Villa Teresa, who was practically only rediscovered recently. The quality of their compositions always justifies the performance of their works. I rode my bike to this concert and have not regretted the decision. Great music and a nice bike ride.
Finally finished building the bike and checked to see if it's working well. So far, I'm very happy with it, and there are plenty of bars along the route. 😁
Every year at the start of the season there is this easy tour to Niederwartha along both sides of the Elbe.
It's city cycling and I need a few extra kilometers...
Because of the high temperatures expected today, we'll stick to a small "early morning exercise session" and there's no temptation to stop off at beer gardens that are still closed.
