Newly revised for MTB the Kahlenberg Trail. My tip: Starting point at Kuchelauer Hafen over the Eiserne Hand in the direction of Scheiblinkskirchen - Steinriegel up - back at Windischhütte over the pear tree meadow to Kammersberg and then only downhill to Weidling and on the cycle path from Klosterneuburg to the start
After a few years I rode the Kahlenbergerdorf route again .. .. and yes it offers a really great MTB feeling. The "Iron Hand" uphill is legendary right at the start. But this time I could really enjoy everything with the extra power at the bottom bracket :-).
We drove along the Kahlenbergerdorf route in wonderful, sunny autumn weather. These trails were wonderful, the rough forest paths were a bit strenuous and after a perfect coffee break at the Windischhütte, a detour to the Weidlingbach Trail Park was a great way to round off a beautiful Vienna Woods tour.
I must honestly admit, I wouldn't have been able to complete this tour without electricity. It was very steep and strenuous at times,
Today's tour was a nice varied round. It took me from Untermauerbach via Steinriegl, Weidling to Klosterneuburg. Here I also passed the former Magdeburg barracks. This brought back some memories for me as I spent almost two years there. I drove back through the Kahlenbergerdorf, up to the Kahlenberg, around the Hermeskogel and via Exelberg and Sophienalpe back to Untermauerbach.
I drove from Exelberg to Kahlenberg on beautiful paths and many trails. In between there is a short stop at the highest point in Vienna. After the Kahlenberg down towards Klosterneuburg and Weidling. There up to the Black Cross. From there I drove on to the Windischhütte. And via Scheiblingstein back to the starting point.
