This circular hike runs between Krölpa and Ranis through the Pinsenberg nature reserve. The mountains here were once reefs covered by the sea. With castles and caves, bats and bison, this tour is an exciting experience for the whole family.

A lovely walk after visiting Ranis Castle. A scenic walk through the countryside across the valley to the other side, to Brandenstein. Then back uphill to Ranis, where we finish the day at Café Ilse. Very tastefully furnished, lovingly decorated, and a good selection of ice cream and cakes.
The tour started at the parking lot below Ranis Castle. On the Geopfad Zechsteinriffe it went via the bison enclosure (the Fito accidentally says bison enclosure), Teufelskanzel and Herta cave to the NSG Pinsenberg (the pictures erroneously say Pinsberg). The ascent there is worthwhile with a fantastic view. Via Brandenstein Castle we went to Ranis Castle. The castle itself can only be visited on weekends, but we were allowed to take a quick look at the entrance area. The view of Ranis Castle was also allowed. Ranis Castle can be visited, entry €6, which we did. Another nice tour in 💚 Germany 🥰
Today I took a short walk around Ranis. My destination was Brandenstein Castle 🏰. Apparently it's open for viewing on Sundays and you can offer your art objects - Cash for Rares. There's also a cafe. If you can read, I only did it online at home, you'll have an advantage. Unfortunately, it doesn't continue until January 12th, 2025. Despite everything, the castle is very pretty to look at 🏰. It was a nice walk with views and the company of the sun ☀️ This was definitely my last tour this year. I wish you a happy New Year, have a good start 🎉
