On your road trip along Route 66 you will pass through St. Louis. The city on the Mississippi is also known as The Gateway City because it was considered the gateway to the American West during the development of the West. This almost eight-kilometer-long loop takes you through the heart of Forest Park - perfect for stretching your legs in the green.
The route avoids the paths on the edge of the park, so you have more distance from the traffic noise. The green area is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world. A wonderful landscape with numerous lakes and lots of cultural and leisure facilities await you. You can adapt this tour as you wish and, for example, include a visit to the Saint Louis Art Museum or the zoo.
Before or after the break, it is worth making a detour into the city center. A visit to the Gateway Arch, the highest archway in the world, or the National Blues Museum complete your stop in St. Louis. And then you continue west on Route 66.
