Hiking
The Kundler Gorge is the perfect destination for families - but hikers without children will also get their money's worth here. The nature is unique, enjoyment is provided on the way in the form of a traditional inn and at the very end of the gorge a special highlight awaits you - a little tip: there is a fun shortcut for the way back.
From the parking lot, a wide hiking trail leads you into the gorge. He is guarded by bizarre and mighty rocks. From start to finish it's relatively flat, which is why you can easily master the tour with a stroller.
Because it is a little paradise for children that extends here in front of you. The wide stream bed is full of different stones that you can even grind in the stone turning shop at the entrance to the gorge and take home as a souvenir. At the end of the approximately three-kilometer-long gorge, the absolute highlight: the slow train drives through the gorge in regular sections and is happy to take tired hikers back to the starting point.

Today we went out of the Zillertal to Kundl, into the Kundler Gorge - one of the most beautiful natural gorges in Austria with 200 meter high and steep rock faces. 🥰 The starting point is the paid parking lot directly at the entrance to the gorge. First we went over a large wooden bridge from which you could watch a beautiful waterfall. Afterwards we always walked directly along the water, the Wildschöner Ache. ☺️ Sometimes wider, sometimes narrower. Sometimes louder, sometimes quieter. Beautiful with the high rock walls, the green and autumnal accents and the many bridges! After about four kilometers, where the Kundler flows into the Mühltaler Klamm and cows graze freely in the meadow, we turned around and walked back the same route. So we were able to enjoy the gorge again from a completely different perspective. 😊 Attention: The Kundler Gorge is only accessible from April to November and is closed in winter!
There's nothing better than walking in a shady, slightly windy gorge on a hot day. Once you're at the top, you can hike into the next valley, take the train or walk back :) On the way back, I filled the empty bottle with spring water.
A nice not too heavy walk and good to do with children or with a stroller. Also benches along the way and a Stubbe for something to drink or eat. Only cash to be able to pay.
A truly worthwhile hike through a "mythical" world of dragons. The gorge landscape is one of the most beautiful in Austria. And please bring a towel; a dip in the water is obligatory depending on the season...
The Kundler Gorge was very nice after the failure on the Hohe Salve
Tour video: https://youtu.be/xrf1RksoK8M A great tour through the Kundler Gorge. Definitely not to be missed if you are in the area. Also very easy to reach by bike from the Seeblick Toni campsite.
The Kundler Gorge is a rather wide, open valley, but still impressive and worth seeing 🤩👌 The path through it is very well developed, slightly uphill, but hardly noticeable (don't be fooled by the Komoot information, not the voices 🤷🏻♂️) includes a theme trail and was also easy to walk with a pram.
