Paderborn has a lot to offer: the cathedral, the Pader springs, the town hall, and in August the Liborikirmes turns the beautiful university town upside down. But did you know that there are also many idyllic lakes and large ponds to discover here? On this tour you will explore seven bodies of water - from a small forest lake to the adventurous Lippesee, everything is there. For a little more variety, you will also cycle past the magnificent Neuhaus Castle, and from the start and end point, Maspernplatz, it is only a stone's throw to the charming old town center. Your trip extends over 26 kilometers. You will mostly ride on asphalted cycle paths or side roads without climbs, which is why this tour is great for families and beginners.
You start out of town, past the Paderborn fish ponds, and after just under six kilometers you reach the Taller Untersee and Mittelsee. The tour continues surrounded by idyllic forest and wide fields past the Waldsee, Habichtsee and Thuner See. After a little more than halfway you reach the 103 hectare Lippesee. Here you can swim in marked areas, relax on the sandy beach or have something to eat in the bistro or café. If you are travelling with children, they will certainly be happy about the playgrounds.
From the Lippesee you cycle towards Neuhaus Castle, which is always worth a stop. Back to the starting point at Maspernplatz you then pass the Padersee, which completes your lake tour.

get used to the temperatures when you go to the NRW bike tour (29.06.-02.07.23), not only have plenty of fluids with you, but also drink a lot, otherwise the mineral balance will be upset. If you sweat a lot, you also have to drink a lot.
