Hiking

This route, largely in nature, offers you an immersion in the forests between the towns of Cournon and La Gacilly, stronghold of Yves Rocher who gave his name to the cosmetics brand.

The route leaves the town of Cournon then crosses the Landes du Loup stream to reach the forest, a link with the town of La Gacilly. The mill of La Ville Janvier appears in the middle of a dense green setting. It is located on the site of Ville Janvier which was the seat of an ancient lordship. The mill was formerly used to grind buckwheat which was used to make Breton pancakes.

The route continues through the forest and leads to the Tablettes dolmen. These funerary or sepulchral chambers are a strong marker of the identity of Brittany, recognized as the first megalithic site in Europe. Then, you reach the banks of the Aff and the eco-hotel spa “La Grée des Landes” which belongs to the Yves Rocher group. It is the first 100% ecological spa hotel.

The end of the route unwinds along beautiful paths in the middle of the forest before returning to Cournon.

May 30, 2025,Circuit du Dolmen des Tablettes (Cournon)
This 14-km circuit is predominantly forested. The trail markings appear to have been recently redone. It has a fairly steep gradient with many climbs. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding forest. The undergrowth paths have unfortunately been plowed by tractors. Given the condition of the soil, this circuit appears to be impassable in autumn and winter. Connections will allow …
