September 25, 2023,Kettwiger Panoramasteig
Since I only had to work until 12 p.m. on Monday, I thought that I would finally have to put my plan into action to walk the Kettwiger Panoramasteig. The fantastic weather somehow suited this 😎
I underestimated the time and the sun setting earlier and earlier, so I had to walk the last few kilometers in the dark. But …

The early bird...
... sets off on the PanoramaSteig at 6:15 a.m. in Essen-Werden, although that was actually a little too early, because due to our lack of local knowledge we had to switch on the lamp on our smartphones after just one kilometer, as the narrow, downward path led a little into the unknown without light. 😉

Today I explored the Kettwiger Panoramasteig, one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Ruhr region. The approximately 35-kilometer route leads through idyllic forests, over rolling hills, and offers breathtaking views of the Ruhr and the surrounding countryside. I was particularly impressed by the diverse landscape and the tranquility far from the hustle and bustle of the city. In …

I can't remember where I got my tour template from - at least it often didn't match the marked one. The markings were mostly continuous, but they also confused me in a few places...or did I mix up the signs with those on the Baldeneysteig? 🤔🙃

It was a really nice tour again. I'm always amazed at how beautiful our Ruhr area is 😁😁😁. I can definitely recommend this trail too. Provided you don't have too many problems with asphalt...
It's very varied and the views are really great!

I made it, my longest hike so far.💪
My last hike showed me that I could do it today.🤗
So it was the opportunity to walk the Kettwiger Panoramasteig.
The weather was just right for it. So I set off from Essen Werden. It was still quite fresh in the morning, …

We hiked the trail at the weekend after the Baldeneysteig in two day stages (Werden-Kettwig and Kettwig-Werden) and I can only confirm what "visitessen" wrote, although the asphalted sections didn't seem that long to me. All in all, a very beautiful and recommendable trail.
