Today a quick round from Vallehermoso through the Teselinde massif on the high trail to Cumbre de Chijeré.
Very beautiful, varied hike with a strenuous ascent through a hot cactus landscape. Ignore the first detour, here we got lost for a moment. The entrance is at the cemetery on the right. In the upper part, a small section of forest protects you from the sun. At the top of the plateau we continue, with changing earth colors and a great view. You go down over scree and without sun protection. Very nice hike, with a last section (from Playa to Vallehermoso) that we shortened by hitchhiking.
Today we leave the damp green forests behind us and hike in a drier environment. A long climb took us up to the Santa Clara chapel, which was built on a ridge, from where we could enjoy the breathtaking views into the depths and over the peaks to the coast. We then climbed down a well-developed but very steep path to a small bay that invited us to linger before we hiked back to Vallehermoso. In rainy weather the narrow paths can be muddy and slippery. Wear shoes with a good profile that give you good grip.
Hike is moderate to difficult depending on your fitness level. Definitely use sunscreen, there is little shade. Wouldn't reverse the tour either because the descent has even less shade. But everyone can decide that for themselves. In any case, this hike is worth it! Have fun!
Tour 3/6. Today I'm leaving the damp green forests behind me and hiking in drier surroundings. A long and sweaty climb takes me zigzag up to the Santa Clara chapel, which was built on a ridge. From there and the next few kilometers I have breathtaking views into the depths and over the surrounding peaks all the way to Teide on Tenerife (climbed in January 2023). Then I climb down a very steep and never-ending path to Vallehermosa beach (not suitable for swimming) where I take a longer break and sunbathe. Finally, we go back to Vallehermoso and straight to the village square to Bar Iballa, where I drink an ice-cold and very tasty Dorada beer! Cheers!🤙
A great round near Vallehermoso. First the valley on very green paths to the end of the valley and then up to the Eremita with chickens and cats. The further way through the red landscape and then steeply down with a magnificent view. And it was dry too.

The descent to the sea is suitable only for people who are not afraid of heights
